As it appeared in the early 1900's looking toward Mt. Baldy (Spokane):
with the coming of the railroad, the rustic charm of Spirit Lake drew
many visitors, particularly from Spokane, arriving at the elegant
Fountain Park and
heading to the steamboat to take a ride up the lake. The rock
part of the fountain is still visible on the left as you go down
the hill on Maine Street.

The current Public Access is on the right in this photo, and Fireside
Park was occupied
by several smaller buildings before the office for the Mill was moved to that location by the Hohman family...
